Canada’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup run ended one step short of the semifinals as defending champions Korea DPR scored twice in stoppage time to win 2–0 in Łódź on 20 September.

Canada kept the tournament’s defending champions scoreless through regulation at Stadion Miejski ŁKS Łódź. FIFA reported that Korea DPR finally broke through in the second minute of added time through Choe Rim-jong before Ho Kyong sealed the result four minutes later.
The defeat closed a five-match campaign in which Canada drew England, lost to Brazil, beat Tanzania 6–0 to advance from Group B and eliminated France 3–1 behind Kaylee Hunter’s hat trick. The final record was two wins, one draw and two losses.
