A cross-border squad

Canada Soccer’s 28 October announcement names three goalkeepers, eight defenders, eight midfielders and four forwards. Thirteen clubs are represented across Canada, England, Italy, Croatia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States, giving the camp a broad development footprint without predetermining a lineup or pecking order.

Goalkeepers: Marko Kos (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Harrison Patterson (Toronto FC), William Ritchie (Fulham FC).

Defenders: Manav Badwal (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Niko Brodar (Modena FC), John Chukwu (Toronto FC), Henry Hudspith (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Ivan Perkovic (HNK Hajduk Split), Kacper Plocinski (Cavalry FC), Ousmane Sangaré (CF Montréal), Fletcher Wellard (Charlton Athletic).

Midfielders: Adam Amireh (Colorado Rapids), Francesco Arrigoni (Genoa CFC), Juliano Barbieri (CF Montréal), Lucas Dawson (Toronto FC), Salomon Karlsson (IF Elfsborg), William Karras (CF Montréal), Hunter MacGowan (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Noah Messou (Vancouver Whitecaps FC).

Forwards: Ayden Bills (Walsall FC), Antonio Morello (FC Lugano), Ethan Reid (Toronto FC), Sasha Romanov (Toronto FC).

The next checkpoint

Head coach Mike Vitulano described the window as the group’s final camp before the U-17 World Cup qualifiers in February. That makes the two regional opponents useful preparation, but the announcement does not establish a starting eleven, player roles beyond the listed positions or any selection guarantees for qualifying.

Both matches are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. local time, which Canada Soccer lists as 11:00 a.m. ET and 8:00 a.m. PT. No Canadian broadcaster or stream is named in the announcement, so Ooh Ah Canada will not list one unless an official source confirms coverage.

The camp’s value will be measured in the work done before February rather than a speculative forecast. Costa Rica and the United States provide familiar Concacaf opposition; verified results and any later squad changes will be added when Canada Soccer publishes them.
